With the slew of foreclosures, among other problems that will develop during the next 5 years, will we see a resurgence of government grants for people able to purchase homes to be used as low income rental properties?

no doubt!

I know at least two people who own numerous rental properties. During the last seven years or so, they have been hurting, as banks approved virtually everyone that applied.

now, since people cannot get approved so easily, many families end up renting.

the rental property owners are definitely back on profit-making track!

Yes, such grants are going to be offered by the US government for a long time perspective. But i guess there are still years left for it.
